Hybrid Virtual Meeting Campaign
Here you'll find our active campaigns and information on how to participate. Below you'll find our analysis of the problem, our proposed solution and what's been accomplished so far. If there's one thing you get involved with, you'll find it here.
In the wake of COVID-19, a huge percentage of unions, especially paramedic unions, have transitioned to a "hybrid" virtual/in person meeting format for all union business. We're spearheading a campaign to implement hybrid virtual meetings so we can make union participation accessible and allow us to vote on much needed changes.
Ontario paramedic unions that we have spoken with uniformly report that meetings have a higher turn out rate when offered in a hybrid format. We believe this will also be the case with Toronto paramedics, where our schedules don't often align with meeting times, and our dispersion across southern Ontario makes attending in person meetings difficult if not impossible.Â

CUPE 416 is required under their bylaws to provide members with union cards in order to identify them at meetings and other gatherings. The ability to sign up for a union card is live on the CUPE 416 website. We urge every member to sign up for a union card as soon as possible. Union Card Sign Up.
We are recruiting medics to send emails to the Toronto Budget Committee, outlining the urgent need for a large investment in paramedic services in the city. Click here to find emails you can send to the Budget Committee expressing your concerns.
