416 Paramedics is a collection of Toronto paramedics who want to increase education and engagement about the union and our workplace. Many of your colleagues may not have participated in a union before and may not be aware of what their rights are or of their ability to participate in union activities. This concerted effort aims to increase involvement by getting members attending meetings, becoming well-versed in the motions they may be raising or voting on and passing motions to guide the union to address the concerns of the rank and file. Without enough engagement from the membership, many issues that have already been present for some time will continue to go unaddressed. 

While 416 Paramedics does have some paramedic union stewards involved, it is run independent from the union executive. The goal is not a "union bust" nor to separate from other CUPE 416 units, but simply to empower the membership to wield their rights as union members.

You, a union member, should have a voice within this organization; Your voice is much louder when it's joined by the voices of your colleagues to ensure that our issues are being addressed.
